Root Canals – Endodontics

When the pulp (soft tissue inside the tooth) is damaged because of a bacterial infection (decay) or trauma, you can develop a bad toothache, an abscess, or a swelling. Often, the tooth can be saved with a root canal treatment. Root canal has often been associated with discomfort, but with modern techniques, computer controlled equipment, and Dr. Knolls training and experience, most procedures can be done in one or two visits with a minimum of discomfort or no discomfort at all.
